Description
Farm and ranch is a specialty where one account can include a home, a business, a fleet, a workforce, and a herd, all on the same property. This course gives you the depth to write it with confidence.
No two operations are alike. A cow-calf ranch, a dairy, a row-crop farm, and an orchard with a weekend corn maze each carry very different exposures. The costly gaps tend to hide where farm, personal, and commercial coverage meet. Agents who can walk a property, ask the right questions, and build a program around how the operation actually runs become the trusted advisor in their rural markets.
In this 17-session instructor-led course, you'll work through the full farm and ranch account, from the farmhouse to the feedlot, including:
Foundations & forms: the agricultural landscape, how farm programs are structured, and how AAIS and ISO farm forms compare, exposure by exposure
Farm property: dwellings, outbuildings and specialized structures, machinery and equipment, and livestock, crops, and stored commodities
Liability: farm and ranch liability, chemical application, farm labor, agritourism, and umbrella, workers' compensation, and employers liability
Farm auto & transport: farm trucks, trailers, and mobile equipment, plus agricultural hauling, hauling for others, and moving oversize equipment
Crop, livestock & ag programs: federal crop insurance, livestock and dairy revenue protection, and how private coverage works alongside government programs
Specialty operations: dairy, plus equine ranching and riding operations
Underwriting, claims & integration: advanced risk management, lender and landlord interests, coinsurance and valuation, and real-world case studies
You'll leave able to see the whole operation, not just the policy. You'll know which exposures to flag, which coverages to coordinate, and when a risk needs a specialty market.
