Learn the difference between workers compensation and employers' liability along with an introduction to other states insurance. Content focuses on the duties of the insured and conditions, federal coverages, issues within workers comp and legal theories within this coverage.
- The three parts a work comp policy consists of:
- Workers compensation
- Employers liability
- Other states insurance
- A detailed review of the coverages within the three parts:
- Injuries to employees
- Legal protection for the employer
- Monopolistic states
- The nine clauses of the policy, including:
- coverage exclusions
- Insured do’s and don’ts when faced with a work comp claim, including, but not limited to:
- When to notify the carrier
- Cooperation with the carrier
- Voluntary payments
- A review of the five policy conditions
- In depth understanding of federal coverages
- The issues and challenges that can arise from work comp claims
- A look into the legal theories that may affect coverage
- Review of the Acord WC Application
